Welcome to StoryBrain. By using our platform, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
StoryBrain is a professional story-development platform comprised of four integrated tools: Story Builder (guided ideation and development from any starting point through a nine-phase interview, producing producer documents, one-pagers, and pitch materials), Story Adapter (source-material digestion and treatment generation from novels, articles, screenplays, and other IP), Story Writer (writer-led screenplay generation from outline to full draft, with the writer editing and approving at every stage), and Story Analyst (professional-caliber script coverage with interactive Q&A). The platform supports feature films, social media shorts, and brand short formats, with additional formats in development.
StoryBrain takes a Socratic approach: the platform interviews you, surfaces your vision, and pushes back when the story isn't there yet. It never makes the creative decisions. The story comes from you — the platform supplies the craft, structure, and speed.
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. StoryBrain is currently in invite-only release; account creation requires a valid invitation.
You own everything you create and upload. StoryBrain claims no ownership over your stories, ideas, treatments, screenplays, character bibles, outlines, coverage reports, or any other content you generate using our tools. You are free to use, publish, sell, or share your output however you see fit. Copyright vests in you, the human creator, and is assignable like any other creative work.
This includes all output types: producer documents, one-pagers, pitch documents, story treatments, teaser scripts, concept write-ups, screenplay drafts, and coverage reports. You retain full intellectual property rights over all of it.
You may only upload or input material that you own or control. By providing any material to StoryBrain — whether through file upload, interview responses, chat messages, pasted text, voice input, or any other means — you represent and warrant that you are the owner of that material or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to use it on the platform. This obligation applies to every word you type, speak, or submit.
You may not upload, paste, or otherwise input:
StoryBrain is not liable for any claims, damages, or legal actions arising from your unauthorized use of third-party intellectual property on the platform. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Storybrain Corporation against any claim, suit, or proceeding brought against us as a result of your violation of this section. Violation of this section constitutes a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate termination of your account.
We process your content solely to provide you with the StoryBrain service. We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not share your content with third parties beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the platform (specifically, our AI provider processes prompts and returns responses under a zero data retention policy). Every project is fully siloed — no bleed between projects, no bleed between users. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
When you upload reference scripts, source materials, or voiceprint samples, those materials are used solely within your account to inform the platform's understanding of your voice, style, and source material. Voiceprints live as a private layer in your account and nowhere else. Nobody's style is scraped. Nobody's voice is borrowed. Uploaded source materials are processed for the purpose of adaptation analysis and are not retained by our AI provider.
StoryBrain uses frontier large language models to generate documents based on your inputs and the creative decisions you make throughout the guided interview process. The platform is model-agnostic by design and currently runs on Anthropic's Claude model family under a zero-retention enterprise agreement. While we work to ensure high-quality, professional-grade output, AI-generated content is provided "as is." You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and taking ownership of any output before using it professionally. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, originality, or legal status of AI-generated content.
All AI-generated outputs — including but not limited to producer documents, treatments, screenplay drafts, coverage reports, teaser scripts, concept write-ups, pitch documents, one-pagers, and any other material produced by the platform — are provided on an "as is" basis. Storybrain Corporation makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees regarding any AI-generated output, including its accuracy, completeness, originality, reliability, legality, or suitability for any particular use.
If you are using StoryBrain under an evaluation, demo, trial, beta, or other non-commercial arrangement (collectively, an "Evaluation"), you may use AI-generated outputs solely for internal evaluation of the platform. During an Evaluation, you may not use any AI-generated output for any commercial, production, development, financing, distribution, or other purpose beyond assessing the platform itself. Upon entering a paid subscription agreement, these Evaluation restrictions are superseded by the usage rights granted under that agreement.

StoryBrain is currently in invite-only release. When paid subscription plans become generally available, they will be billed in advance on a recurring basis. You will have the right to cancel at any time, with access continuing until the end of your current billing period. Specific pricing, plan features, and refund policies will be communicated at the time of general release. Early-access users will receive notice before any billing begins.
We aim to keep StoryBrain running reliably, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to take the platform offline for maintenance or updates. We'll do our best to give you notice when that happens.
StoryBrain is a creative tool, not a substitute for professional legal, business, or creative judgment. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Storybrain Corporation is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
